The World’s Largest Belt Buckle

Okay, I had to post this picture as a side note of the Texas show.  By day, we looked at strollers, high chairs, and all sorts of baby products.  At night, we attended an event sponsored by the show itself at Billy Bob’s Honky Tonk.  I thought you all might be interested to know that we witnessed the World’s Largest Belt Buckle as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records!  Above you can see me, Ali and Emily, our absolute favorite BOB Stroller rep, striking a southern pose in front of the massive belt.  Yee Haw!!!

Back to Texas: The Baby Jogger POD

Baby Jogger POD

We stopped by the Baby Jogger booth to catch up with one of our favorite vendors and got a great opportunity to learn all about the new Baby Jogger POD.  The POD is a new stroller that can serve three purposes at once: it can be a four wheel stroller, it can be a three-wheel stroller (for running/jogging) or it can be a bike trailer.  The POD comes in Crimson or Orange and then you choose which adapter kit you want so you can configure your stroller the way you want it.

The POD is narrow enough to fit through a standard doorway and can hold up to 100 lbs.  The POD can fit one or two children with bench style seating.  The harnesses can be threaded so that two can sit side by side or you can take one of the harnesses out and put it in the middle for one child.  The handlebar has two height adjustments for shorter or taller parents. It is a fun way to stroll with two kids and costs less than alot of our other all terrain double strollers.
The best part of the POD is that is has the patented Baby Jogger fold.  The fold reminds me a bit of the fold on the City Select and is so simple and easy to do.  The POD has 20″ rear air filled tires and one of three options to adapt your chassis: Stroller conversion kit with dual 8″ front stroller wheels, Jogger conversion kit with a single 16″ front air filled wheel or a Bike Trailer conversion kit with a trailer tow bar.
Other features include a generous back storage pocket, side ventilation and rear helmet pockets for your riders.  The POD also has reflective stitching and a hand brake.  The POD chassis sells for $499.99 and each of the conversion kits sell for $79.95.  They will be up on the website soon and should be shipping mid-late May.

Hauck Malibu Stroller System

In these times, parents are looking for a stroller system that will give them all of the features they want but still need it at a reasonable price.  We have found the stroller that does the trick – the Hauck Malibu.  The Hauck Malibu is brought to you from the same guys that sold the famous Rock Star Baby Stroller and the popular I’coo Targo, Pacific and Pluto strollers.  Hauck strollers are found all over Europe and, as many of you already know about me, I love when European strollers make their way to the shores of the U.S.

The Hauck Malibu is the perfect stroller solution for parents on a budget, but unwilling to compromise on style or function.  This system is for families who aren’t interested in a clunky big box stroller, but want something with a sophisicated design as well as giving them everything they need for their baby from birth.

The Hauck Malibu is reasonably priced at $299 and comes with: the stroller, bassinet, bassinet stand and universal car seat adapter.  It is lightweight at 18 lbs. and easy to fold.  The bassinet and car seat adapter attach very easily to the stroller frame by activating a button under the handles to release the connectors on the frame.  The bassinet is a wonderful place to have your baby – not just while walking with the stroller, but also when used with the bassinet stand, it can be used in the bedroom, downstairs or at grandma’s house.  The universal car seat adapter is a cradle system with a strap that allows any U.S. approved infant seat to be used with the stroller.

Other than having a reversible seat, the Malibu offers most of the features of some of its more expensive competitors have at an unbelievable price.  In fact, it even has independent front wheel suspension for a smooth ride over bumpy sidewalks which most strollers in this price point don’t even have.  I’m so glad that the European style complete stroller system has finally come here in this form so more and more American families and can enjoy the wonderful features that this type of system can offer.  The Hauck Malibu comes in charcoal, plum and turquoise/chocolate brown.  Check out the Hauck Malibu page and watch the video we have on our site for a great demonstration of how the stroller works.  If you are considering a full service stroller that will go from birth and be the only stroller you might need, definitely take a look at the Malibu!

I just returned tonight from the ABC Spring Educational Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.  It was an intimate show this year with lots of opportunites to talk with our vendors about what is up and coming and see some glimpses of what is in store for fall.  We had the chance to see some great products and I will be blogging with pictures and some videos about the great stuff we saw.  Nothing like mixing strollers with bull riding for a fun filled time in Texas!  It was great to see everyone and I am excited to share all of the information with you.  So keep reading!  Erika

Stylish All Black Special Edition Bugaboo Cameleon

All Black Special Edition Bugaboo Cameleon

Bugaboo is usually all about color:for the Cameleon, pick your base color and pick your tailored fabric color.  For those who prefer a more monochromatic and sophisticated look, check out the All Black Special Edition Bugaboo Cameleon.

The All Black Cameleon comes with a matte black frame and black fabrics.  For die hard black stroller lovers, this is a great opportunity to get black seat and  bassinet fabrics as the closest to black the Cameleon usually has is dark gray.
I personally think the black frame is stunning and gives the Cameleon an extra edge that is eye catching.  Even if you think the black is too much after a while, you can always add a splash of color by getting a tailored fabric to change the canopy color.
The special edition will only be around for 2011 and only while supplies last.

Kidco Go Pod

When we were at the ABC Expo in Las Vegas in the fall, while we were scoping out strollers, a friend of ours suggested that we check out the Kidco Go Pod as it was the hot, new item at the show.  We thought- ok, let’s check it out.  We did and we had to admit it was a super smart baby product.

Most of you have seen the enormous, heavy plastic exersaucers/activity stations that moms rely on to keep their little ones safe and entertained when they are starting to crawl and get into absolutely everything dangerous.  Well, the Kidco Go Pod takes that idea and makes it smarter.  The Go Pod weighs in at just 7 lbs. and can be quickly folded and moved from room to room, out into the backyard, or in the car to take to the big brother’s t-ball game.

There is a spot for sippy cups and loops to attach your child’s favorite toys, like the Skip Hop Stroller Toys!  Suitable from four months and up, the Go Pod makes your life easier and keeps your baby safe when they seem to always be getting into stuff they shouldn’t be getting in to.  It’s a smart product and we love it!

UPPAbaby Vista with Snack Tray and Ganoosh

UPPAbaby Vista with Snack Tray and Ganoosh

Calling all UPPAbaby fans!  StrollerMama has all of the new UPPAbaby stuff in stock!  The 2011 UPPAbaby G-Luxes are here and we LOVE them!  The new model has some great new features including a super soft, padded seat with an adjustable footrest.  The fabrics now have StainDefend to help keep toddler schmutz off the stroller.  Also, the new G-Luxe has a higher weight limit (went from 40 lbs. to 50 lbs.) which extends the life of the stroller.  It still has a great pop-out UV sunshade (which many umbrella strollers don’t have) and is the lightest umbrella stroller with a recline on the U.S. market at just 11 lbs.

Also, the new UPPAbaby Vista snack tray is finally here.  Parents asked for it and UPPA made it.  The Vista tray is compatible with current and older models of the Vista and is the perfect accessory to keep your little one happy munching away while you are out and about.
Also, the UPPAbabyVista is now in stock in new colors: Lindsey, which is a wheat/light tan, and Cole, which is a subtle, slate blue.  They are a nice subdued addition to some of the brighter Vista offerings.  All of the new UPPAbaby strollers and accessories are in stock and ready to ship!
