Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Seat

So, here at StrollerMama we strive to have the very best baby products in the industry.  We got lots of parents and parents-to-be that come to visit us in our store to test drive strollers and figure out what is the best fit for their family.  We noticed a trend that many of our parents-to-be had already decided on the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant seat and many parents that already had it came in and raved about it.  Many of our pregnant customers told us that they chose it because of how highly it was rated in Consumer Reports.  So, we looked into it  and we really liked it, too.  We thought it was a great fit for StrollerMama, not only because it is a great infant seat, but also because it works with so many of our favorite strollers. 

The Chicco KeyFit 30 is perfect for very little babies starting at 4 lbs. and comes with a comfortable infant insert to give tiny babies the support they need.  It also has a much higher weight limit than its competitors (most only hold children up to 22 lbs.) while the KeyFit can hold up to 30 lbs.  The base is easy to install and has a center pull strap that makes it easier for parents to pull it tight for a secure fit.  We also chose colors that are classic, gender neutral (you know if you buy that pink infant seat your second child is going to be a boy!) and make sense for parents: Romantic- black and gray/silver with a coordinating boot and Adventure: Sage green and chocolate brown. We also carry the extra base for families with multiple cars. On top of the great features of the infant seat itself, the Chicco KeyFit 30 is compatible with many of our best selling strollers.  It can be used with an adapter bar with the Uppa Baby Vista, Valco Tri-mode and Tri-mode Twin, Phil & Teds strollers, I’coo Pacific and Targo, Bumbleride Indie and Indie Twin and the Baby Jogger City Mini, Elite and Select (adapter for Baby Jogger expected late April).  We are excited about the Chicco KeyFit 30 and think it will be a great choice for our parents.

Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Active in Organic Walnut/Khaki

For years and years, I have been a huge fan of the BabyBjorn Baby Carriers.  I’ve used them with all three of my kids and over the years they have just gotten better and better.  My first BabyBjorn was from 2001 and it was one of the only tools in my arsenal to keep my daughter (now eight years old!) happy and calm.  Since then, BabyBjorn came out with the Baby Carrier Active which I think is the greatest.  I used it with my third child and what a difference!  The lumbar support is amazing!

The latest offering from Grand Touring Baby is the I’coo Pacific.  The Pacific takes many of the great features of the other I’coo strollers and combines them to make the Pacific one of the best strollers we have seen in a long time. We have always been big fans of the I’coo strollers from their first I’coo Infinity Rock Star Baby Stroller to their current I’coo Targo. The best feature of the I’coo Pacific is that it literally takes one minute to switch the bassinet to the seat.  It is less bulky than having two separate pieces but more convenient than having to take bassinet skins off and replace them with seat skins.  I have never seen a stroller that can convert from bassinet to seat like the Pacific does.  Parents will love that feature!  I also love that the mattress pad can be zipped into the bootcover to create a footmuff that has slots for a five point harness.  The Pacific includes all of the perks that we want from a full service, reversible seat stroller and make it easier to use than anything we’ve seen before!  Preorder yours today and we are expecting an early March ship date.  Looks good!

Okay, so there really isn’t a big link between the Cleveland Cavaliers and strollers except that we here at StrollerMama are the Cavs biggest fans!  Cavs basketball is on fire here in Cleveland and we love following our beloved Cavaliers!  The Cavs are a great basketball team, fun to watch and lift our city up.

Last night, we took our oldest two kids to the Cavs game and took a very funny picture that I thought I would share.  It looks like the real Mo Williams, Shaq and LeBron but it is just a picture with real life sized Cavs to stand next to.  You can get a sense of how big they really are!  So, the next blog it will be back to stroller reviews.  For now, just a little glimpse into the happy moments in the life of a StrollerMama!

2010 Uppa Baby Vista Special Edition in Maya

The 2010 Uppa Baby Vista has officially been released and we can’t keep it in stock – literally.  The new model is really amazing – people have been waiting for it for a long time now since we here at StrollerMama told you about it back in September 2009.  We have already gotten great feedback about the new, more upright seat, easier brake, improved click-in system and, of course, the colors – especially on the Special Edition Maya with the stunning graphite frame. 

So, that is the good news.  The bad news is that the word got out quickly about how great the new 2010 Uppa Baby Vista really is and our first shipment sold out in about two seconds.  Then, we got news from the folks at Uppa Baby that their next big shipment was delayed at the factory and now isn’t expected until early March.

As of this morning, we have just a very few in stock.  Other than that, we are expecting a shipment in the beginning of March.  All of the retailers are in the same stinky situation.  Everyone, including the folks at Uppa Baby, expected more 2010 Vistas to be shipping and arriving throughout February, but there will now be a month delay for everyone.   We wanted to let our parents out there know since many of you, like me, are big planners when it comes to finally pushing the button on which stroller to choose for your family.
