Mamas & Papas Sola Stroller

We are thrilled here at StrollerMama to be one of a few exclusive Mamas & Papas authorized dealers in the U.S.  Mamas & Papas is one of the leading brands and retail stores in the UK.  They are a family business, just like us, that looked at what parents needed and made wonderfully stylish solutions for them.  Our first Mamas & Papas stroller was the Urbo and we just received the Sola

The Urbo is a sleek, reversible seat stroller with clean lines, a shiny frame and a distinct European look.  It is great for parents that want a stroller with a reversible seat but don’t need a bassinet.  The Sola is similar to the Urbo but morea bit more affordable.  It also has a reversible seat and is suitable from birth with a flat recline.  It can also take an optional Graco or Maxi Cosi adapter bar.  We carry the Urbo in Black and the Sola in Black and Flora which is a combination of purple and florals.  We actually received our first shipment of Solas to the store yesterday and while a family was looking at other strollers during the truck delivery, we then set up the Sola, they put their beautiful eight week old daughter inside and shortly thereafter, walked out the door with the first Sola to navigate the streets of Cleveland!  They were sold and so are we!

We are so excited about carrying the Mamas & Papas brand.  I will blog about their other wonderful products that we carry soon and check them out on our website!

Graco Snugride 30 in Metropolis

For quite sometime, the Graco Snugride infant seat has been one of our best sellers here at StrollerMama.  At the recent ABC show in Fort Worth, we decided it was time to add another Graco Snugride model to our store.  We decided on the Graco Snugride 30 in the specialty pattern - Metropolis.  The Snugride 30 joins the other models we carry (Snugride 22 and Snugride 35) to give parents another choice.  One thing we love about the Snugride 30 is that it has a lower starting weight of 4 lbs. so it is perfect for premies or parents expecting twins.  We love the Metropolis pattern – it is a sophisticated and understated combination of grays, silver and black.  Another thing to note about the Snugride infant seats for any parents out there looking to use one with the 2011 BOB Duallie – the yet-to-be-released 2011 Duallie adapter bar will only work with the Graco Snugride 22 and Graco Snugride 30 models (not the Snugride 32 or 35).  So, the new Snugride 30  is a great option for parents looking at the BOB Duallie! The Graco Snugride 30 is available now at StrollerMama!

Orbit Baby Color Packs look like a delicious pack of skittles!

Orbit Color PacksBlack Orbit Color Pack

You already love your Orbit Baby Stroller but sometimes you long for some color other than your black, mocha or ruby, right?  Well, the folks at Orbit Baby have come out with a terrific new accessory for the G2 that easily adds a splash of color to your stroller.  The new Orbit Color Packs will be available soon and will sell for $120.  When we stopped by the Orbit Booth in Texas we thought the canopies looked like a pack of skittles (in a good way!)  I am always a fan of fun colors for strollers and having add-on accessory color packs is a great way for parents to add color to their stroller.  I think this is especially great for parents with girls who want a more feminine look for their Orbit.  It is also a great way to completely change the look of your stroller without investing in a new stroller – just get a new color pack and you have a whole new look!  I actually chuckled to myself when I saw them on display because it reminded me of how I have multiple bumpers for my iPhone (pink, green, black, etc.) depending on the mood I am in. I am guessing I am not the only mom out there that feels the same way I do!  We are excited for their arrival!

Evening in Innsbruck

Ergo Baby Organic Petunia Pickle Bottom Limited Edition

We stopped by to see our friends at the Ergo Baby booth to see what was new and we are so happy to see the three very limited edition organic

carriers patterned by Petunia Pickle Bottom.  Many of you know that Petunia Pickle Bottom does some very stylish diaper bags and they decided to partner up with Ergo and do a few limited edition carriers with their fabrics.  The fabrics are organic and the style is the original carrier.  They will be available in three fashions: Heavenly Holland, Evening in Innsbruck and Peaceful Portifino.  I love all three patterns and would have a very hard time choosing which one is my favorite.  The limited edition carriers should be available early summer and will be $159.99.  Check the website soon for preorder information!

All new UPPAbaby Cruz coming this summer along with Stroller Blankies and resdesigned Cup Holder!

UPPAbaby Cruz
UPPAbaby Stroller Blankie
UPPAbaby Stroller Blankie Folded
UPPAbaby New Cup Holder for Vista and Cruz

The most exciting stroller debut we saw at ABC Texas was the all new UPPAbaby Cruz stroller.  Our parents have been huge fans of the UPPAbaby Vista for years and it is one of our best sellers.  The folks at UPPAbaby decided to design a new stroller to follow on the success of the Vista.  Coming this summer is the UPPAbaby Cruz!  The Cruz delivers a compact stroller solution without compromising on the features of a full-size stroller.  It is suitable from birth through toddler years and will be $459.99.

The Cruz takes many of the great features of the Vista and trims it down for something more compact for parents.  The Cruz has a full sized reversible seat (the seat is the same size as the Vista seat) and has a one-handed five-position recline.  It has an easy one step fold with or without the seat attached.  Just like the Vista, it has a large canopy with UPPA’s signature extended spf 50 UV sunshade and is also compatible with an infant seat with the optional adapter bar.  Another great feature is that it has two canopy positions (the canopy can easily raise and lower) to accommodate taller children.  The Cruz also has a telescoping handlebar and is compatible from birth with the infant snugseat accessory.
It is different than the Vista because it is more compact: just over 21″ wide allows for easy maneuvering through doorways.  Also, there is no bassinet option and no second seat option like on the Vista.  It also has four smaller wheels which makes the stroller more compact.  The Cruz does have a suspension system in the wheels so it still will handle bumpy sidewalks better than other compact or umbrella strollers.  The Cruz is suitable up to 50 lbs.
The Cruz will be coming in four fashions: Denny (all red), Jake (all black), Sydney (yellow and gray), and Tyler (Ice Blue and Gray).  The Cruz is the perfect stroller for parents looking for a reversible seat stroller with many features but don’t need the bassinet.  We know the Cruz is going to be a big hit!
The other exciting stuff UPPA showed us in Texas were the new Stroller Blankies and redesigned cup holder.  The Stroller Blankies will come in three fashions, Basil (greens), Imagination (reds), and Raspberry (pinks) and are not your average stroller blanket.  Besides having a super soft minkie interior, the outside of the Blankie can be folded over the bumper bar has three little pouches on the outside to hold pacis, toys and snacks.  It is such an innovative product combining the function of a soft blanket with a stroller “snack tray” area.  And to make it better, it folds up completely into itself into a little pouch so you can throw it into the stroller basket.  Perfect!  The Stroller Blankies will be $39.99 and should be here early summer. The redesigned cup holder is also great news!  There is currently a cup holder available for the Vista but our parents seem to have a love-hate relationship with it.  The new cup holder is much more substational and it will have a clip for the Vista and the Cruz and will be $24.99 and available late summer. We are really looking forward to seeing the new products this summer.  Keep your eye on the website for preorder information soon!

Ellen DeGeneres goes ga ga over GoGaGa diaper bags for Mother’s Day!

Ellen loves the GoGaGa!
GoGaGa Slide Tote

Looking for the perfect gift for Mother’s Day?  Ellen DeGeneres has the answer for you!  She just featured the GoGaGa Slide Tote Diaper Bag on her Mother’s Day episode that was watched by 40 million viewers!  Ellen raved about the slide strap and comfortable style while modeling the Copper Slide Tote herself!  We have always loved the GoGaGa bags here at StrollerMama and are glad that Ellen heard about them!  We saw Jill (the founder and owner) this week in Texas at the ABC show and we are so happy for her success!  Watch a clip of Ellen reviewing the GoGaGa on her show at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjcX0WuDfeA

Best new product we found in Texas: the Nap Nanny!

Friday, May 6th, 2011
Nap Nanny Chill in Minky Sage and Lavender
Nap Nanny Chill in Giraffe

The product we are most excited to bring home from Texas is the Nap Nanny Chill.  We’ve had many parents ask us for it so we were very excited to be able to see it in person and learn all about it.  The folks at Nap Nanny are terrific – down to earth and super friendly.  We learned all about the Nap Nanny Chill and how it is an absolutely lifesaver for parents with a fussy baby or infants with reflux.  The Nap Nanny Chill is the only portable infant recliner that is safe for sleep and play.  The Nap Nanny Chill is the perfect place to keep your little one while you jump in the shower, grab a phone call or throw in a load of laundry.  It is a great alternative to keeping your baby in their infant seat which is not great to do for extended periods of time.

The Nap Nanny Chill has a great new feature that allows you to take off the harness when your baby grows up so it can still be used as a toddler chair.   The Nap Nanny Chill is the second generation of the product which features a new harness design for enhanced safety and snug fit, a contoured bucket with higher sides and a large base made from high-density foam providing maximum stability.  It gives you that extra five minutes to feel like a person again (which can be hard with a newborn! C’mon- moms out there, you know!) by giving your baby a safe play to sleep or play while you sneek a shower or actually put on your lipstick and mascara! We even saw one this spring in People Magazine with a very famous actress and her newly adopted son sleeping peacefully in his Nap Nanny right by her side!
The Nap Nanny is only intended for floor use and should not be used in the crib.  We think it is a brilliant invention- one that makes mom and baby happy!  We are excited to be carrying it in Minky Sage, Lavender and Giraffe along with the Nap Nanny carry bag that make it easy to travel with.  Look for it soon at StrollerMama!

Texas sidenote: World’s Largest Belt Buckle

The World’s Largest Belt Buckle

Okay, I had to post this picture as a side note of the Texas show.  By day, we looked at strollers, high chairs, and all sorts of baby products.  At night, we attended an event sponsored by the show itself at Billy Bob’s Honky Tonk.  I thought you all might be interested to know that we witnessed the World’s Largest Belt Buckle as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records!  Above you can see me, Ali and Emily, our absolute favorite BOB Stroller rep, striking a southern pose in front of the massive belt.  Yee Haw!!!

Back to Texas: The Baby Jogger POD

Friday, May 6th, 2011
Baby Jogger POD

We stopped by the Baby Jogger booth to catch up with one of our favorite vendors and got a great opportunity to learn all about the new Baby Jogger POD.  The POD is a new stroller that can serve three purposes at once: it can be a four wheel stroller, it can be a three-wheel stroller (for running/jogging) or it can be a bike trailer.  The POD comes in Crimson or Orange and then you choose which adapter kit you want so you can configure your stroller the way you want it.

The POD is narrow enough to fit through a standard doorway and can hold up to 100 lbs.  The POD can fit one or two children with bench style seating.  The harnesses can be threaded so that two can sit side by side or you can take one of the harnesses out and put it in the middle for one child.  The handlebar has two height adjustments for shorter or taller parents. It is a fun way to stroll with two kids and costs less than alot of our other all terrain double strollers.
The best part of the POD is that is has the patented Baby Jogger fold.  The fold reminds me a bit of the fold on the City Select and is so simple and easy to do.  The POD has 20″ rear air filled tires and one of three options to adapt your chassis: Stroller conversion kit with dual 8″ front stroller wheels, Jogger conversion kit with a single 16″ front air filled wheel or a Bike Trailer conversion kit with a trailer tow bar.
Other features include a generous back storage pocket, side ventilation and rear helmet pockets for your riders.  The POD also has reflective stitching and a hand brake.  The POD chassis sells for $499.99 and each of the conversion kits sell for $79.95.  They will be up on the website soon and should be shipping mid-late May.
